Little Italy Offshore Elliots Beach

Exclaiming the news that Little Italy is in the offshore of Elliots Beach in Besant Nagar, we started roaming around and found it out in the street parallel to Elliots Beach Road.

The restaurants look was astounding and it almost looked like a star hotel. A woman in the entrance of
the hotel enquired us, "have you booked a table?" No, we replied. She then went in and checked for
unreserved tables. Then she took us in and accomodated in a table at 1st floor.

We got settled down and a menu card arrived at our table. Wood burn pizza, garlic breads, pastas, soups
etc. were some that we found. And the good thing that we found was that you'd get a thin crust pizza and
a pizza without cheese on request. Even if you wish to have a jain style cooking that can also be availed.

Zorba, Sicilia, Gurdjeiff, Indian were some of the pizza varieties that we found in the menu card. After
a lot of thinking, we ordered for a Sicilia pizza that is topped with mushrooms, basil, dry chilles,
sun dried tomatoes, mozarella cheese. We wondered seeing the thin pizza, which was crunchy, juicy with the
cheese, spicy with dry chillies and no more words to say about that.

We've been waiting for some couple of minutes for the pizza to arrive, meanwhile we ordered for a starter.
Garlic bread, masala garlic bread were some that we knew in the menu. So we went for a masala garlic bread.

But meanwhile we were ordering for it, we got our pizza. Hence, starter at the end.

But comparatively Masala garlic bread did not add justice to its name. It was not spicy as the cheese was
pre-dominant. Capsicum, chilly tomato sauce, garlic were some of the ingredients that was mentioned in the
menu. Again, the name garlic did not add justice to the dish. Apart from all those it tasted good.

Even sitting in the beach in a sunday evening wouldn't be so good. Excellent ambience, quick service,
no space complexity and even more to be lauded. But all these for an expense at its best. A meal for two
with one pizza, garlic bread, juice, pasta and even with some more would cost nearly 2000-3000 rupees.

The person who accompanied me rated pizza 4.5 out of 5 and masala agrlic bread a rate of 3.5 out of 5.

Mylai Karpagambal Mess-Chennai

A fine evening, one of my friend from Kolkata had visited Chennai for the first time. I took him to show the nook and corner of the city to show its difference. But when it comes to food, he said that he wanted something different other than idly and dosa.

By evening 4 o' clock, we were hungry. He was very sure about something different. After visiting Mylapore Kapaleshwarar temple, i had a quick glance at the hotels surrounding the temple.

Luckily, i noted a sign board with the name "Mylai Karpagambal Mess". I remembered somebody telling that it is one of the oldest surviving mess in Chennai city.

So i took him in. He said, "You have to order. I don't know anything". So i called upon the waiter and asked him, "What do you serve now"? The waiter replied with some set of dishes such as, dosa, parotta, chapathi and sevai.

I ordered for sevai and my friend asked me, what is Sevai made of? Its made of powdered rice, i replied. And the billing counter had small packs of some sweets like Badam halwa. I got one and gave it to him. He enjoyed eating it.

Meanwhile, we received our sevai. After eating it, the guys taste bud made him order one more, one more and another one in a sequence. He was so excited to eat it.

Finally, i was happy for making my friend eat something different other than idly and dosa.

Texas Fiesta- Chennai

We were in search of a place to chat without any disturbance and have fun along with food. But we were disappointed with some of the restaurants. One fine day we were walking along the streets of nungambakkam discussing about the life style of cow boys and texas. Suddenly we found something that was with the name texas. Without a second thought we entered the restaurant. First we ordered for garlic bread with the name "Mojo De Ajo". It was garlic bread garnished with cheese toppings. And then we took burgers and an apple pie.
All the dishes took some time to reach our table from the kitchen. The restaurant had some stuffs to play and roam around. The walls were decorated by cow boy caps and guns. With the permission of the waiters, we took those to a have some pics of ours. And the ambience of he restaurant was quite amazing and calm. Hence the food, the ambience and all other things was very much good when compared to others.

This would be a dream destination for the Texas lover's.
But still the space complexity is the main constraint with this place. Otherwise it is good.

Tibetan Brothers Restaurant, Kodaikanal

I was quite hungry after climbing the steep roads of the hill town and it was unusually cold biting. So i wished to have a hot and spicy food. But something different. I turned my heads on all sides and found out Tibetan Brothers Restaurant.

Once i entered in, the person who owns the restaurant came to me with a smiling face, a glass of water, a plate and a menu card. Being an alien cuisine i was not able to recognize the food by its name. Certain thing that i saw was, Veg. cheese chowmein, Veg. Momo etc. Others were quite recognizable. So i asked him, What is chowmein and Momo? He replied, Chowmein is nothing but noodles and Momo is like samosa.

Being it an afternoon time, i didn't want to go for a Momo. So i decided to choose chowmein to fix up my hunger. It should've been a 10 minutes time since i ordered. Veg. cheese chowmein was in my table. I thought they would've grated cheese on the fried noodle or would've melted it initially to saute vegetables. But i found cubes of cheese in the noodle. It tastes really good. I guess pepper, soya sauce should be used to cook. Not overcooked and i didn't find too much of any ingredients. The good part they make their own noodle with a noodle making machine.

Ambience of the restaurant would get an average score. Traditional Tibetan furnitures would have increased the score in terms of ambience. But overall i like to rate it around 6.5 out of 10.
